There’s over a hundred parts to choose from, but which was your favorite? The fourteen crows exploding at once? Doku’s extremely brief “ooh”? The walking clouds of blood and gore during some cutscenes? Or maybe just the casual collapse of fiends immediately after they beam in?

Thanks to Matt P. for showing me some things on Cheat Engine, I was inspired to play a run of Sigma where every enemy that can spawn with health points spawns with zero—because the results are hilarious.

I also learned, apparently, that the bats, drones, and ghost fish are *not* assigned health points—even though I could’ve sworn bats had HP (maybe in NGB?). They must be treated as on/off because I scoured the entire area where the health values were for all other enemies, had recorded the addresses of 14 or 15 values, and not one of them affected that “fodder” type enemy. Stranger still is that this does include rats and birds! They are actually assigned health points! So, next time, I’ll have to do a “control group” search, open a chest of bats or fish, and run a subsequent search and see what in the memory changes. Then, maybe we could have a true “Everything Ryu Looks at Explodes” run.
