OK so obviously not a lot to show video game wise but I was kinda surprised to hear that this is not common knowledge or known by many at all period. So I use fei as a easy example to show whats going on...
So normally ryu can cross up a downed fei long with his hurricane kick, and he has some fei long only mix ups shown here. So that in itself may not be very well known. However even less known is that when you break a box in this game it does more than just a aesthetic change it can change certain mix ups as shown here. So normally ryus sweep to hurricane kick will ALWAYS cross up. HOWEVER if you have broken a box it will NOT cross up.
Obviously this goes for a lot of characters but just a random perhaps tricky mix up. And of course this also goes for other set ups with ryu as well, lots of stuff possible, but just showing a basic example.
