As stated in the video, I had trouble figuring out how the world record for this was even done. To clear the way in the end, you have to touch the moon, which clears out the enemies blocking your path. The moon's position depends on when you brought it onto the screen, and how quickly you progress until the moment you need to collect it. At full speed the moon would end up behind the thwomp, making it unreachable while flying through the air off of a koopa. If I would slow down just enough to catch it, I was still a full second behind the record. Must have been something I was missing.

It was enjoyable. Took longer than I would like to admit, but I was also basically only playing speed strats when it didn't matter in the end.
