S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2022 ) Video #226: Shishak's Last Stand
At the Ash Heap Anomaly, the Loner squad leader finally moved out of it far enough for me to safely talk to him, but he had no money. I walked away but turned around and asked him for fast travel back to Yanov Station since I had so much loot from the train tunnel. After repairing and selling the low end weapons I went out and found one of the Loners from the Ash Heap Anomaly squad still standing there. I attempted to talk to him, knowing he had no dialogue, but that action would snap him out of his stupor.
Going north, I found two Dutyers fighting a Bloodsucker at the northern pond but like before, the ravine and thick bushes made it difficult to help other than going in with my Eliminator. One of the Dutyers ran out of the ravine out of fear for his life, just armed with a pistol. He might have been out of ammo for his rifle or lost it. I stepped in and killed the Bloodsucker as it was stalking him. I was able to sell the Dutyer the TRs-301. Then I got confused over who was around me. My Mini-Map said two, but I only saw one Dutyer. I moved to overlook the pond and saw four rodents that I shot. To the west I saw a Loner and found one Dutyer dead. Turning around I went back to the road but didn't see the Dutyer. He was back at the pond, and I had to help stop some approaching mutants but there were too many and the Dutyer fell wounded and before I could get to him the last mutant dog killed him.
I went back to Yanov and was soon going out again with an SVU, YRs-301 with scope and silencer and an SPSA-14. I left out the west side and walked north along the train tracks. In the short period of time that I had been gone, another Bloodsucker had taken position of the pond and it got a satisfying blast of my Gauss rifle. I went back west towards the Ash Heap Anomaly and realized the Loner I had seen walking was the same that had been left behind at Yanov, walking really slow. Arriving back there I only found the squad leader, meaning one of the three I originally met was missing. Where, when and how were questions that may never be answered.
I went south back to Volkhov and came across another lone Dutyer hunting mutants chasing a Boar that I killed. I didn't see a weapon on him. I sold him the SPSA-14 but made sure to load it first with ammo so I could ensure he would use it. I went to help him clear Volkhov but soon he was acting weaponless again. He didn't have enough money, so I bought various items from him until he had enough to buy the TRs-301 now loaded, that I hoped he would use. I went out the south side of Volkhov and killed some incoming mutants. I moved across the road and killed some Snorks in the ravine next to the Poltergeist train car and had an accidental "pause" in my Game literally.
I then went south to the Container Yard and heard gunfire in the rear of it. Knowing that the Game would apparently produce random spawns that were not always more Bandits, I ran to the rear not knowing what to expect. Rodents were running out through the containers and Dwarf and I were blasting them. At the building in the rear, I saw a Dutyer standing outside the door, but a rodent killed him, and he fell. Inside I found Shishak had been killed. It was sad considering how long he had survived. I found one of his men wounded and I gave him a medkit but I was unable to get to the wounded Dutyer. The Bandits got in the trough underneath the truck before me and I could not reach him. The Bandits executed him and got his loot while I could do nothing but watch.
After the dust had settled, there were only two Bandits remaining in the building while two others decided to go to the front and stand guard wtih Dwarf remaining between the two groups. I killed some Boars outside on the road and another single one moving north across the pond. Going eastward I killed a couple more at the southern train tunnel. Going to the Helicopter Pad, I found a Pseudogiant I zapped once but it was still standing killing other mutants. I went around to the front of the mine field, and it stepped on one and died.
Going over to the Ventilation Complex, I climbed the tower just in time to avoid a large pack of Pseudodogs. From the top I blasted them with my shotgun and killed most of them but a couple of them made it to the mine field entrance, but I killed the slower one before he disappeared from view. After killing one more, I descended and moved north to the deserted Checkpoint going up the tower for the view, where I ended the video.
