S T A L K E R: Call of Pripyat - ( 2022 ) Video #236: Yubileiny Service Center Same Day Return
( Yes, I am aware something went wrong with the video. It was working fine when I played it to write my narrative. However the screen froze to what we see and I uploaded it again only to see the same problem. I have no idea how the file got corrupted. I am sorry but my narrative will have to remain for now to tell what happened between videos )
Right after the Emission, knowing I would have plenty of time before the next one and that there was still plenty of daylight left, I decided to immediately return to the Yubileiny Service Center. However, I didn't want to do it the same way as before and get bogged down fighting mutants and Zombies before I even got there. For that reason, I wanted to avoid the usual Bloodsucker kills and their eventual respawns. I went north on the main boulevard and went past the street with the two buses and cut through the opening north of them that went directly to the playground.
From there, this was the largest open area south and south-east of the Yubileiny Service Center and as I got closer, my Mini-Map started registering the number of occupants. Facing the eastern side with the most open windows and best visibility, I did not see anyone despite my infrared scanner showing the highest concentration of people behind the interior walls. I suspected these were mostly Zombies. I figured any Monolith were deeper in the building and on the higher floors.
I went around to the north side, shooting some nearby rodents. As before the northern side was the least favorable and I saw nothing and detected no one on that side. I remember the first time I had gotten this close I had detected up to two dozen ( 23 or 24 ) Stalkers inside. I went around to the west side and was able to zap a couple more. The number inside went down to around 15 after my two trips today. Most all of those had been Zombies on the west side on the second and third floors and around the stairwells.
Luckily I remained mutant free as I moved to the south side and scanned with my FT-200M but saw no one. I moved around to the eastern side again and even moved in closer to looking inside the building and tossed a grenade in there to get them to come out of hiding but to no avail. I do remember a big Zombie concentration on the second floor hallway and bathroom when I played years ago. Despite the infrared scanner telling me this is where the most targets were, we could not see each other.
After making another trip around the building without any more sightings, I was back on the south-west corner where I turned around and could see an Exoskeleton Zombie standing in the playground that had been consumed by the fire anomalies. I zapped him with my Gauss rifle but he didn't go down and needed a second shot. I moved in closer and climbed a tree. I could not see the expected two other Zombies on the other side of the courtyard but I knew they were there. I did turn back towards the Yubileiny Service Center and the additional height allowed me to see a Zombie in a stairwell at an angle that was difficult to shoot at but I zapped him too. I was getting to the point where I felt these would probably be all the easy targets from the outside.
I went ahead and moved in to loot the Exoskeleton Zombie and then shot the other two and looted them too. I had to be real careful the way going back since it was safer to return the way I had come in and not go into other plazas with unknown mutants awaiting. I went back along the southern area of Yubileiny and eastward back to the playground and on top of a platform that looked like a small castle. From there I shot a few rodents over at the Kindergarten but what caught my eyes coming down the back road to the north-east were two Zombies.
I waited for them to walk slowly closer to me and to get in range and I shot them without them realizing where I was. That was good as one was an Exoskeleton with a PKM. After looting them I now had a full load of loot from killing five Zombies and I decided to go back. Coming out on the other side of the apartment building, I was just at the perfect angle to look across the boulevard to the Hospital. I climbed a van and found a stash in it I did not know about. From the top of the van, I zapped the Chimera at the Hospital and then made my way back to the Laundromat without further incident. It was a good day.
