Exo's solo commentaries are back with a bit of a twist! This time, we're doing a research project to determine whether SA2 Treasure Hunting stages are as bad as people say. Rather than simply upload raw gameplay footage, I decided to provide some commentary to discuss the playstyle in depth and explain choices I made during each run of the stage. Later on, I might invite guests.

Today, we're doing seven runs of Wild Canyon:
-Newbie Run: The nightmare run. A mix of bad luck and poor playing skills results in the hypothetical inexperienced player having to tour the entire stage for each emerald shard/macguffin. A worst case scenario estimate of how long each stage can take.
-Full Hint Run: An improved run. The hypothetical inexperienced player makes a full round of the stage to familiarize themselves with the stage design. After that, however, the hypothetical player uses three hint monitors per shard to track down the emeralds. An estimate of a worst case scenario using as many hints as possible.
-Five Trial Runs: In these runs, an experienced player (me) uses their previous knowledge and skills to beat the stage as fast as possible. I do five of these to account for the randomly generated nature of the stage. I then derive a Trial Mean (average of the five times) and a Trial Standard Deviation (the average amount of difference between times).
All of the above completion times and descriptive statistics, as well as differences between runs based on hint usage and experience, are included in a slide at the end of each part.
