I've done a bunch of Hardcore, no upgrade, no Friendly fire runs for this game over the years, but I had the idea to try a pacifist version of this mission while making practice saves. It's obviously possible, but to say this is wildly inconsistent is an understatement. (I purchased basic level 1 flashbangs for this mission.)

I was able to finish the first three checkpoints in one go (after the brute), but the last section is extremely dangerous. I removed the failures for the sake of the video. As it turns out, recklessly charging at a bunch of enemies is bad for your health. Who knew?

It's worth noting that the brute doesn't appear to be an avoidable kill. Even if he's the only enemy around, Shaundi and Pierce won't attack him while he's down. Barring some weird bug, this means you need to finish him personally.

The last section didn't go as cleanly as I would've liked, but some amusing stuff happened that kind of makes it worth it. The cardboard box is too powerful for enemies to handle. It's a shame the enemies took out their frustration on Pierce, or else I would've just stayed there until the mission ended. :)
