I may not like this game, but that didn't stop me from speedrunning it! :)

I've spent entirely too long routing this, but I'm pleased with how it turned out. I could consolidate some of the upgrading (Fighter's Spirit EX before Flash Through Space, for example), but I didn't want to test anything substantial during a live run. Deploying Zero during Doorway to the Abyss wasn't actually called for in the route, but a previous attempt came up about 3,000 damage short on the boss. Zero fixes that problem nicely.

Considering how the speedruns go for V, X, and T, you might be asking: "Why aren't you using more MAP weapons?" The answer is simple. They nerfed ExC gains into the ground in T, and then took it a step further by removing ExC Actions for battleships in 30. Also, the ExC Assembler is absolutely a no-go in a New Game speedrun.

As far as I can tell, I don't think any MAP user (like Ernie or Masaki) competes with Mitsuba. You don't really have the resources to bring that person up to speed quickly enough for it to pay off. Ryoma manages this just fine because he comes in late enough that Mitsuba already has what she needs, so he's not competing with anybody. He's also ridiculously strong and highly useful for late-game boss fights, so the MAP user probably can't handle that role.

But yeah, this run went pretty well in my book. It's certainly not perfect (some bad menus and reloads), but I was just looking for a mostly clean run. To give you an idea, my previous personal best accidentally soft reset after defeating the final boss. I couldn't accept a run with THAT mistake right at the end. :)
