Julius Avery's superhero drama movie "Samaritan" is based on the same-named comic book. It centres on Sam Cleary, a troubled youth living in the infamous titular superhero's former home of Granite City, which is now overrun with crime. Contrary to popular perception, the Good Samaritan is still alive and residing in the old apartment just across from Sam. Samaritan's contacts with Sam compel the hero to take action once more since a powerful evil is concealed in the darkness.
