So, after reading the introduction, one has to wonder what this game plays like? Well, if you thought the game is about futuristic feudal combat, you're only partially correct. The game actually copies the Pokemon formula a good deal. Betcha didn't see that coming, lol. Seriously though, there are places like gyms (training grounds) where you can challenge people, skills you can get in a TM fashion, and even the amount of characters you can have to fight with is six. You'll fight random enemies and even people who act as trainers who have their own set of weapons. What makes this game unusual is the methods in which you accomplish things.

You capture enemies by charming them and if you're succesful, you can use their spirit or "Geist" in battle which takes on the form of a weapon. The type of weapon and attribute depends on the type of monster. You can get a claw, spear, sword, etc. Each monster has their own sex and abilities, but their attacks aren't limited by # of uses... this is where things get a little interesting.

Your hero has a life gauge seperate from your spirit weapon and you have attacks that consume the heroes' health and attacks that consume the weapon's health. Attacks work similarly, damaging the enemy, their weapon or both. If you have attacks that are good at harming the enemy, you can kill them without defeating their spirit weapons. You also have certain moves that can only be done when the gauge on the left is 100%. You even have attacks that alter the field to different elemental zones, which may or may not work in your favor.

For the most part, this system doesn't matter much, although you'll get the "bad" ending if you kill the final boss instead of destroying their spirit. You can also get lots of items and play mini-games, things of that nature. The game also has secret characters you can get and save clear data. Enjoy.
