Sanna Marin acquitted after dance videos leaked
Prime Minister Sanna Marin, who was at the center of the controversy after the leak of footage of her dancing with her friends at a party in Finland, was cleared of complaints that she had abused her power.
According to local media reports, the Finnish civil ombudsman concluded that the complaints received did not prove that Marin had jeopardized any official duties, and that Marin did not neglect his duties as prime minister.
It was stated that the moral and social dimensions of the Prime Minister's leisure activities are an issue that needs to be resolved within the Parliament.
Videos showing Marin having fun with famous Finnish figures, including MP Ilmari Nurminen and media presenter Tinni Wikström, were posted on social media.
In the leaked footage, it was noteworthy that Marin was dancing and singing "crazyly" with her friends, and people were shouting "cocaine" in the background.
Finnish MP Mikko Karna from Marin's coalition partner, the Center Party, called on Marin to take a drug test on Twitter and announce the results to the public on Twitter.
While the leaked images caused controversy on social media, some criticized Marin for acting irresponsibly, while others argued that this increased the 36-year-old prime minister's popularity.
HE HAD A DRUG TEST
Prime Minister Marin, at a press conference, announced that he had a drug test for "legal protection". Stating that he did not use drugs by emphasizing that he drank alcohol with his friends, Marin said that he did not do anything illegal.
The result of the drug test that Marin had done on August 19 was negative.
Meanwhile, he supported Marin by sharing videos of Finnish women dancing and partying on their social media accounts with the hashtag "Solidarity with Sanna".
On the other hand, Marin was the target of criticism for spending a night out while he was supposed to isolate himself shortly after a colleague he was in contact with tested positive for Kovid-19.
