Soldiers from 21 Engineer Regiment marched through the streets of Ripon in Yorkshire today, marking the end of a tough six month tour in Afghanistan.

The streets were packed with well-wishers, and during a homecoming service at Ripon Cathedral, the crowd erupted into spontaneous applause. It is a sign of the close bond between regiment and town.
