Daydrinker and Phoennix play Devour a first person horror game.

Since I have been enjoying Phasmophobia and At Dead of Night I started looking for another scary game to play and came across DEVOUR. It’s another horror survival game that can be played in single player or multiplayer mode. Your character is a cult member who needs to stop the now possessed former cult leader (Anna) by sacrificing goats before she gets to you. I started playing the game solo in the dark to get the “full experience” and almost peed in my pants.

Sometimes Anna seems disinterested and you can walk past her to find those little goats, but don’t get overly confident. She’ll sneak up on you out of nowhere and you can practically smell her demon breath as she’s screaming in your face. If you’re playing with a team, she will drag you to the destination of her choosing (attic, foyer, front yard) and it’s up to your fellow cult members to find you and heal you with a first aid kit. There are other demons that try to stand in your way too, but they are easy to ward off as long as you have enough power in your UV flashlight. One thing I didn’t love about the game is you can only carry one thing at a time like hay, a first aid kit, or a goat. Having to drop a goat to pick up a first aid kit to save a fellow cult member (thank you, PhoennixNova!) made the game a bit more challenging.

Considering the game was only $5 on Steam, I definitely feel like I got more than my money’s worth. The jump-scares are great and the gameplay is longer than some of the other horror survival games I’ve played.
