How to create Motion Blur in Savage XR:

First of all: Adding motion blur looks nice but is a lot of work - and it needs a powerful PC.

To create a 1000 fps motion blur, uncap your fps with host_maxfps 9999 (1000 fps is the limit) and slow the demo down as much as possible (left cursor). Then record with FRAPS at 120 fps, the game will automatically be slowed down down by 833%. In Sony Vegas speed the video up by 833%. To create a 500 fps motion blur, do exactly the same just with 60 fps recording.

Adjusting the amount of blur:
To create 1000 fps motion blur with less blured frames, record with 120 fps, but export it with 60 instead of 30. You can also set a new envelope for "Video Supersampling" or "Motion Blur Amount" in the video bus track (Menu "View" then "Video Bus Track") to define the blured frames exactly how you want it. Video Supersampling decreases the blur, Motion Blur Amount increases it:

These 2 options can be found here: http://www.abload.de/img/supersamplingtmya9.jpg

Video with Supersampling set to 8: http://www.abload.de/img/supersamplingoneglt1.jpg
Video with Supersampling set to 1 (off): http://www.abload.de/img/supersamplingoffs7aez.jpg

Since FRAPS and Sony Vegas don't support more than 120 FPS, the lowest possible high quality blur can be achieved by rendering the motion blur on a 120 FPS basis in Vegas with Video Super Sampling set to 8, then converting it into 30 FPS (by uploading it to youtube). The lower you set the Sony Vegas document FPS settings, the more intense is the minimal blur amount.

The other option to decrease the blur amount is recording the footage less slowed down or with less FPS and then post-render blur frames with the envelope on the video bus track - which however decreases the blur quality a lot.
