S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team was developed by Natsume. It was published by Natsume in the Japanese market (as Final Mission) in 1990 and in the North American market in 1991. In Europe, it was published by Infogrames Entertainment (as Action in New York) in 1992 for the European market.

S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team is a game developed and published by Natsume on June 1991 for the North American market, June 22 on the Japanese market and in 1992 for Europe.
In Japan, the game is known as Final Mission. When released in North America, many subtle changes were made, such as an intro sequence and some graphical enhancement. In Europe and Australia, it is known as an Action in New York.
S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team is a scrolling shooter game with a fixed scrolling. You play as two flying warriors that can move all around the screen, shooting and defeating any enemies. You are equipped with a gun and 2 small sensor that goes around your character. These objects shoot at the same time as when you fire your gun. You can stop the movement of your sensor at anytime, providing precise control over it in any situation of the game. During the course of a level, you can grab alien technology that give you powerful addition to your arsenal :
Wide Beam (W) : Shoot a wave of projectiles that cause splash damage and hit multiple enemies.
Laser (L) : Shoot a laser that can go through the wall. It can be retired as a rapid fire motion.
Bomb (B) : Another splash damage projectile, but this one hit a single enemy but deal multiple hit before shattering
Speed (S): Cause your character to move faster. It is possible to grab this multiple time in the course of the game and your character will attain the maximum speed after it is collected 5 times without dying
Recover (R) : Give 5 bars of life to the player.
All these upgrades can be carried between level, as long as you don’t lose your life.
In the 21st century, the humanity faces one of its most dangerous threats. An alien horde led by the Supreme Commander Vile Malmort has launched an invasion campaign against Earth. His main tool is the Astrotube. He uses it to connects the desolate remains of New York City to the orbiting space station of his army.
Countering it, a secret alliance, known as S.C.A.T., is led by the President. Being informed early about the situation, he assembled the greatest scientist in order to task them the impossible mission. Their solution, the Special Cybernetic Attack Team’s plan.
Part human ,part machine warriors, these durable individual are able to wield massive power and are trained to capture and adapt alien technology against the invader.
In S.C.A.T., you play as either Arnold, or Sigourney, both being reference to the actor of the same name. They start in the New York City Ruins, heading to the Subterranean Realm before finding the Astrotube itself.
Entering it, they end up near the battleship that protects the alien’s space station. After destroying it, the space station and Vile Malmort himself are the final target.
S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team the playthrough
The playthrough use the USA version of the game. Arnold is chosen as the playable character. There is no run with Sigourney dues to the fact that both character function exactly the same with not difference or unique cutscene to them.
You start the game with a single life. However, you have a life gauge. The goal of the playthrough is to beat the game without losing a life or any health in the life gauge. Priority was put into using the different weapon available in the game as well as positioning the sensor at specific spot for strategic purpose. The introduction is also shown in this playthrough
No cheats or glitches were used. TAS tools were used to create a high quality playthrough
