Yes, you're not mistaken, it actually took me half an hour to go through the last stage! I purposely die in the second part of the scene so I can use one continue. The whole thing went pretty bad and I thought I wasn't gonna make it at all...especially the final boss. But sometimes a little faith can save your life!
