Starting with this video, I'll be covering Schubert's Octet with the Ocarina of Time soundfont, as requested by I got the horses in the back. Despite being a chamber work, it's bound to sound more like a symphony here.
The Octet in F major is Schubert's most ambitious piece of chamber music, requiring the largest amount of instruments and being comprised of the biggest amount of movements (six to be precise). The end result lasts around an hour provided that all the repeats indicated in the score are taken.
The first movement is the longest and most complex of the lot, showcasing Schubert's growing mastery of composing within the rules of sonata form.
