Scriptless tilt (pitch/roll) sensor on a self balancing contraption | Space Engineers
This may be the most practical of my contraptions, to make this sensor you need a hinge witch 0 torque, and attach a gyroscope on override witch 0 torque, then monitor the hinge witch 2 event controllers, one set to “angle more then 1” and other set to “angle less then -1”. You need a pair of dangling balls, one aligned witch the front/back axis for pitch detection and other aligned witch the left/right axis for roll detection.
Useful cases include:
-detecting if a rover flipped,
-aligning long range vessels to planet gravity,
-balancing a walker,
-balancing a vessel witch subgrids,
In theory you can replace the gyros witch artificial mass and align a vessel to artificial gravity in space.
