300 members of the Northern Ireland sea cadets have received colours at Carrickfergus Castle, for the first time in their history.

The Sea Cadets were formed in 1856 and teach young people about the Royal Navy.

The new colours were presented and dedicated by Joan Christie, the Lord Lieutenant of County Antrim, who also handed out commemorative Jubilee coins to the officers and cadets.
