Are you looking for a good value in a mattress with a firmness that’s not too hard but not too soft? I recently had the chance to try out the Sealy Posturepedic Response Performance Santa Paula IV Cushion Plush mattress, and I think it could be a good fit. It does a great job balancing body contour and deep support.

Sealy has been in the business for over 100 years, and they use 100 percent CertiPUR-US certified foams. If you and your sleep partner have varied sleep preferences, it can prove especially challenging to find a firmness that works for both of you. This product is around a medium plush, making it a good compromise for partners who need something that’ll accommodate one who likes it firm and another who likes it plush.

Great Option for Hot Sleepers
Do you sleep hot? This can be especially uncomfortable, but, even worse, it prevents you from entering the highly-restorative REM stage of sleep. It’s important to find a product capable of facilitating cool sleep, and Sealy incorporated multiple methods to help this mattress breathe well. These include:

Coils that breathe well by design
Gel foam that’s designed to keep you sleeping cool.
Peaks and valleys of the convoluted Air Foam that navigates steady air flow

I was able to sleep very cool on this product. During the course of our video review, you can watch as we perform a test using our thermal imaging camera to monitor the cooldown process after lying on the product for a half hour. You’ll be impressed with the results.

Not Super Plush, But Plush
Although this product has plush in the name, it’s not incredibly plush. This can be good or bad. For some customers, primarily those who don’t carry much weight or sleep on their sides, they may be looking for something on the firmer end of the spectrum. In the case of the Santa Paula plush, it is plusher than a medium, but not much.

Medium firmness accommodates the majority of customers, so I think this product can offer a good compromise for sleep partners if one is willing to go a little more on the plush end. As you watch our review, I’ll show you just how much more plush this product is than a true medium to help you decide if it’ll be right for your needs.

Extra Effort for Good Edge Support
