Storm in a Teacup released their horror adventure, Close to the Sun, on May 2, 2019. The game has generally received positive reviews by players and critics alike. Initially it was released in the Epic Games store (and also available via the Humble store), making its way to other platforms like Steam about a year later.

Controls in the game are relatively few. W, A, S, and D give standard movement, with icons indicating not only interactions but special movement (such as crawling or jumping). Shift makes Rose, the protagonist, run. There are collectibles in every chapter, all of which are simple enough to find; none of them are at a moment when danger is imminent.

In an alternate history, theoretical scientist Ada Archer joins a community of scientists supported by Nicola Tesla, who in this timeline outpaced Thomas Edison in the inventions race. Rose, Ada's sister, receives an ominous letter from Ada some time later, telling her to stay away. This naturally prompts Rose to visit the Helios, Tesla's giant ship where the scientific community lives. However, as she enters the ship, the large letters of the word QUARANTINE echo the warning Ada gave her. Now sealed in herself, Rose has no choice but to explore. Will she find her sister Ada? Will Rose discover what fate befell the Helios and its occupants?
