When Big Bad Wolf Studios released their game, The Council, on March 13, 2018, it was met with a mixed response. While most critics gave the game only an average score, player reviews tended to be considerably higher. The game is broken into five episodes, with multiple chapters within each. Although the game has a heavy focus on dialogue and puzzles, the level design, consequences for actions, and character development promise an engaging experience.

Standard movement controls (W, A, S, and D) are used to move the protagonist from room to room, while LMB is used when an interact symbol is presented, such as an eye or a hand icon. Various screens are available, showing anything from information gathered about an NPC to your current skills to tomes you are studying during the current phase of the game.

As Louis and his mother, Sarah, complete a mission in France in 1793, information learned leads Sarah on another quest. However, she disappears not long after departing, and Sir William Mortimer invites him to his island off the coast of Great Britain. After arriving, Louis soon meets the various other high-profile guests, including world leaders of the age. Unaccustomed to this type of environment, Louis must be on his toes, suspicious about whom he can trust. When everyone has their own agenda, what can you believe? Let's play The Council and engage in the intrigue.
