A few more things to show.

Salabog rematch - 1:33
Potential candidates for Back-To-Back snapshots - 8:13 and 10:57
Frippo behavior display - 14:14
Magmar defeated without using healing items - 17:36
Vigor The Not-So-Indestructible No Damage Run - 23:24

The Salabog rematch is for doing it with the Bone Crusher, no damage allowed to be taken other than Private Hazard sponging the Will o' Wisps which can't be helped. I intended to include blocking as taken damage, but a mistake near the end where I easily would have had Private Hazard's protection if I didn't make it nulled that. At least I lasted long enough, considering Salabog's HP is just plain ridiculous for the point you fight him and the involvement of him screeching at the player to use burst damage to not take as long with him. He should have had his HP lowered a bit and frankly-...wait. Hold that thought.

It is worth pointing out that when you're trying to do a Borderline No Damage Run of Salabog, you still have to contend with plenty of luck, namely unresponsive Sniff Commands, the Will o' the Wisps' erratic movement, Salabog's randomness in when he lunges, bad setups with the Will o' the Wisps, and my favorite, arbitrary Misses. It's important to focus and space so that you can thin the herd without getting caught in a bad position. Of course, a fight this long with questionable variety is bound to bust your focus. At least my run of Chapter 9 in Startropics 2: Zoda's Revenge didn't have ANY of Zoda-Z's individual phases last longer than 4 minutes, so they didn't have as much tedium capable of slaughtering my attention span. It didn't help that I chose to use the Bone Crusher, but hey, this is what I go through for you guys to show how to do the math without the calculator and I don't appreciate some cheap "backseat gaming" accusations.

At least I got a couple of candidate snapshot moments for Back-To-Back. Because seriously, Secret of Evermore is still a case of Needs More Love and funny how it has me be glass half-full in all the ironies that are involved.

Next display is Frippo behavior to show that they're actually using intimidation attacks that would be for warding off would-be predators. Thanks to estat for displaying as much on his LP. And it's a nice touch as well, I couldn't avoid displaying it.

I did a rematch with our Pokemon friend Magmar hoping to replicate the ridiculously fast kill I had managed on him by accident in the midst of my handling of my savestates (yes, I'm using an emulation feature to jump around, you've discovered my magician's secret, congratulations) and....well, I didn't get Magmar to use Heat Wave on the blow where he died like what had happened in that accident, but I still kill him before I needed to do any healing. Charged attacks! :)

And finally, aside from a display of more market timer expiration dialogue and also how speedrunning can cover getting all of the containers in the backroom without issue (FWIW, probably), I got the No Damage Run against Vigor going. This "loser with a femur" can just stay far and directly to the south of the column with Pompolonius, and slightly on the side opposite Vigor and it won't be hard to react to anything Vigor does, although the boomerang could be bothersome to handle properly. This happens with the Bone Crusher and would happen even more easily with the Horn Spear's charged attacks, and you've seen what happens with the Spider's Claw: rush to the far side after Vigor launches his attack and L3 attack once Vigor is facing the center again. Vigor is a joke and should be renamed to Vigor The Reject.

Since I have covered enough of what I wanted to, I can now announce that I'll be working on making my own balance patch for Secret of Evermore. I will be hoping to have something presentable in time for the game's 25th Anniversary, so expect me to focus significantly on that. I have my own ideas and I would want to record one particular idea, although I'd have to figure out how to address the Hit Roll system to get something really going. In case you couldn't tell at this point, I hold this game in definite esteem for how gracefully it has aged and I'm going to want to make the balance hack with the design philosophies providing the reasons why in mind. Look forward to it.
