6Time and time again my Dwarf Fortress knowledge is tested. Fortunately, the rough patch with the howlers on the top level is over, and now it's up to me to try and get my production going once more. Except we have almost gone full Onceler on the local trees and we are not exactly swimming in Iron. Still, that shouldn't stop me from setting up an initial security net.
Dwarf Fortress is a labor of love and one of the most sophisticated story generators in gaming today. And after over a decade of development, it has stormed onto Steam with both graphics and music! Yes, I'm serious. Honestly, the ASCII stuff was always very well done and, at least for me, easy enough to understand. But with the barrier of entry much lower there's no reason not to strike the earth once more. Let's succeed at finding the fun.
