Location: Ashina Castle - Upper Tower - Ashina Dojo
Triggers immediately after defeating Emma in the Shura Ending (see previous boss above).
Strategy: You can actually apply the identical approach used against Emma. Obtain the Shadowrush Combat Art by investing 6 skill points in the final skill of the Shinobi Skill Tree. The strategy remains simple: Position yourself 10 meters away from the boss, where their attacks cannot reach you. Execute Shadowrush, then quickly jump back and initiate a retreat by running away (hold CIRCLE / B to run). Repeat this sequence consistently. Maintain a constant rotation of Shadowrush, followed by a jump and a retreat to a distance of 10 meters. Neither Emma nor the subsequent boss Isshin Ashina can block this maneuver. The key is to develop a sense of the ideal distance—you should be far enough for your attack to connect, yet not close enough for the enemy to hit you. Remember to always hold L1 + R1 to charge up the attack.
During the second phase, Isshin will incorporate fire-based moves into his arsenal. When he shoots fire in a straight line, simply run sideways (hold CIRCLE / B to run) to evade it, ensuring you always dodge the flames. When he releases a wide but short-range fire spray in front of him, position yourself just behind the flames and charge up your Shadowrush to strike him once. His most devastating move occurs when he summons flames all over the area. Locate a spot on the ground without any flames and promptly jump towards him. This is crucial because he will rush towards you with a lethal attack chain that could instantly kill you. By leaping over him, you can effortlessly evade the attack and strike him from behind several times with regular attacks.
It is advisable to conserve your healing gourd uses during the encounter with Emma. Additionally, equip some Pellets for additional healing and Ako's Sugar to enhance your attack damage against Isshin. This way, you can conclude the fight with fewer Shadowrush attacks. But as i said there is more useable tactics.
