Sentinels of the Multiverse: Weekly One-Shot - Out of Sync
We have a somewhat lengthy game this time around. For one, we're fighting Akash who has a lot of HP and can even heal, plus we have the Prime Warden characters (different variants), who need time to set up before they can start to do stuff.
So first, I did not think the Dark Conductor was going to be as helpful as he actually was. Using his ability as well as abusing the Drum and Inventive Preparation, we were able to give additional card plays throughout the field to get Haka and Tempest set up, which generally takes time, especially with Tempest having a bad start like he did here. Sadly, I don't think there were any big discards I made with this ability.
As for Captain Cosmic, his Cosmic Weapons allow him to go on the offensive, plus it also gives Fanatic a weapon that is not so easily destroyed after Absolution gets wiped. Here, you get to see me abuse Dynamic Siphon pretty well to heal things out of turn, and eventually get more card plays due to the Adept. Overall, his normal power is too situational here, so I don't recommend using it often.
As for Fanatic, she can swing either her sword or Captain Cosmic's to constantly deal damage. Main thing is that you use her other cards to protect the important ongoing cards as you don't want Adept or Tempest to lose too much of their set up.
Haka starts with weapons that he quickly loses, but you can then start using his power to speed through the deck and get all of the cards you need. Dominion is kind of optional here, but I wanted the extra draws. By the time they came out, the game was pretty much over, so take that as you will.
As for Tempest, he has a really bad starting draw that takes a couple turns for him to get going. You'll want the Hailstorm to help clear the field of limbs, Downpour to heal the team and protect the Constructs, and then Gene-Bound Shackles so you deal extra damage to Akash and start to wear her down. Getting Electrical Storm out too is nice, but not really required. Should you manage to get the set up going that you want, you can then start playing one-shots to speed up your DPS and bring Akash down.
Overall, not really that hard of a game, but the difficulty is getting a working set up as Akash likes to wipe the field. The normal Prime Warden cards all give their uses additional card plays, which we simply don't have here. The Dark Conductor is the closest thing in that he can play an additional card with his power, and he also offers the next best thing to deck control here. Sadly, I didn't get to combo Dark Dynamics with either Vernal Sonata or Reclaim from the Deep.
With this, Akash is down and I get a few days to rest before we have to go at this again.
