Andre Tanneberger (ATB)

RELEASED: 1995
GENRE: Happy Hardcore, Hard Trance

INTRODUCTION
André Tanneberger began his serious foray into music in 1992. A friend whom André invited to hear his first musical rehearsals was very impressed.

FORMATION AND NAME
As a result, he offered him the opportunity to refine his compositions in a professional studio. It was there that André's attention was caught by a synthesizer called "Sequential Pro One," which became the inspiration for the name of his first project, "SEQUENTIAL ONE."

BAND MEMBERS
Initially, the project was a solo endeavor by Tanneberger, but in 1994, three other members joined. As a result, Sequential One comprised several key figures who contributed to the group's success:

ANDRÉ TANNEBERGER
The main creator and producer, later known as ATB. He was responsible for the band's music production and main compositions.

WOODY VAN EYDEN
The second very important member of the group. A Dutch DJ and producer who brought his unique approach to dance music to the project.

EMORFIA PAPADOPOULOU-GRIESE (MORPHA)
A Belgian model and vocalist who provided vocals for many tracks.

ULRICH PÖPPELBAUM (DJ SPACEKID)
Another important member of the group who contributed to creating remixes and production.

Sequential One debuted with the single "Dance" in 1993, and their popularity grew with subsequent singles. Their songs were popular on European charts and frequently played in clubs.

KEY EVENTS:
Around 1998, Woody and Morpha left the band. Despite this, André and Ulrich were determined to continue with the project. Unfortunately, the rights to the band's name no longer belonged to André; they were owned by the record label. André had to give up his favorite name and shortened it so that it would still be easy to recognize that it was André's production. Thus, the band changed its name to SQ-1.

In a reduced lineup, the band recorded many interesting tracks. However, the most significant moment eventually arrived: André decided to start a solo career.

LEGACY:
Sequential One, later SQ-1, had a significant impact on the development of dance and electronic music in the 90s. The band was a pioneer in using modern production techniques and experimenting with various musical genres, which helped shape the sound of the era. Sequential One's tracks were often played in clubs and festivals, and their remixes were eagerly chosen by other DJs for their sets.

POST SQ-1
And what about André after ending the SQ-1 project?
He had many ideas in mind and in 1998 released his first solo track (initially intended to be released under the artistic pseudonym "Andrew," but ultimately André decided that it would be a good idea to use letters from his first and last name).
Thus, André TanneBerger (ATB) was born!!

ATB - 9 PM (TILL I COME) (SEQUENTIAL ONE 1999 REMIX)
   • ATB  -  9 PM (Till I Come) (Sequentia...

This marked the birth of another figure who would be recorded in golden letters in the history of trance music.
