One of the largest Pokemon websites in the world, Serebii, posted about their experience with a private 2 hour play sessions from the beginning of Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu & Eevee. Not only did they confirm many traditional mechanics are still in place, they also discovered the hand holding is not as bad as folks initially feared.

More than that, they walked away saying something I have been saying this entire time: This is a true Pokemon Game. Not a spin off tossed to the side and ignored.
