Serious Sunday: The fate of The Fate of Atlantis SE - Yet another fan-made copyright casualty
This week, Luke takes another look at ill-fated fan projects in the recently DMCA'd Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis SE, a 3D fan remake of the original FOA by Went2Play, and the preemptive reskinning of the Mother 4 project. He talks about the risks of creating a fan project, and makes a case for taking your fan inspiration, and going that one last step to creating original content, or at least something that can safely be called an "homage" or "spiritual sequel/successor".

Serious Sunday is a freeform, sometimes roundtable discussion between the members of Level 0 NPCs, where a specific topic is pre-selected by the group to be explored and discussed at length. Each of the NPCs approach the topic from both the perspective of a seasoned, die-hard gamer, and as creators of games themselves. Part freeform review, part critical analysis, part video game book club, Serious Sunday is where the NPCs take a step back and take a moment to give a serious look at something that is important to the industry, or games in general.
