Sierra Saturday: Let's Play King's Quest V: Episode 2 - Running errands for sentient animals
With his family and castle mysteriously spirited away by an evil wizard called Mordack, and little clue as to what to do, King Graham embarks on a journey in the land of Serenia to reclaim that which he lost. It becomes quickly apparent that the land of Serenia is a poor and underprivileged place, as evidenced by almost exclusively depressed people and dangerous animals. Neutral-Good as he is, Graham begins a campaign of hearing every complaint he can, including that of the animals of the kingdom, to get ready to make the world a better place...

King's Quest V: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder! is the critically acclaimed 5th game in the venerable point & click adventure franchise, developed and published by Sierra On-Line in 1990. It was the first King's Quest game to be released in VGA on teh SCI1 engine, and also the only King's Quest game to receive a NES port. It revolutionized the Sierra Point 'n Click adventure game genre by introducing the verb bar interface, which would replace the long-running text parser.
The NPCs are playing King's Quest V with Roland MT-32 audio.
Sierra Saturday is a weekly series on the Level 0 NPCs channel, where Matt & Luke relive their childhoods playing classic adventure games of the '80s and '90s (and beyond?). Sierra adventure games were a special breed of dark humor, brutally unfair puzzles and unforgettable characters, and we hope you enjoy this walk down memory lane with us.
