It’s been a few years since LmAnubis’s last level. In fact, his last full level was Event Horizon, a collaboration with me, which came out Summer 2017. It’s good to see him back with Serpents Wrath finished, a project I remember watching him work a bit on years ago. The level feels very much like a level by LmAnubis, and for some, that may be a bad thing. I know some people who find the level empty among other complaints. Personally, I quite like the visuals of this level, and that may be in part because of nostalgia. Back in 2.0, I absolutely loved his levels as they were some of the only fully themed art levels at the time. Seeing another level like that now with some 2.1 stuff and a bit more to it visually, I get reminded of his older works. On another note, I can definitely see how a lot of other creators nowadays may execute themed levels better. It’s also important to mention that this video is not a good representation of the project. First of all, going for the coins makes it a pretty different level; it goes Extreme Demon difficulty. LmAnubis didn’t want me to watch his streams so I wouldn’t get the coins spoiled, but there’s no way I’d get these coins anyway, so I don’t quite see the point now. Secondly, many parts in this are randomized, notably all the boss parts. (There are even 2 different boss designs! Watch at 1:41 to see one get killed by the other.) Even if you practice the level a lot, you'll probably still be surprised many attempts into normal mode by the different attacks you face. It can get a bit annoying if you're unlucky with the randomized attack order, which sucks when it's at the end of a level that is over 2 minutes in length. For this reason, I think it will be a Hard Demon. Even if you don't like this level a whole lot visually, the effort he put into creating and verifying this level cannot be understated. I advise you to go watch other videos of it or play it in-game yourself to get an idea; it's too much to explain in one description. I think it will get an Epic rating.
