I'm normally the type of AC fan that prefers large cities with dense crowds, where I can run from building to building and use people to shroud me as I approach my target. I love Unity's Paris, Venice, and Rome. So if you had told me that an AC was going to be set in the whole country of Egypt, and that most of it were going to be open space, I would have told you that was a really BAD idea. I would've thought there is no way such a drastic change in design could keep a game feeling like AC. Well, Origins achieves that to me. Every time I play it, I realize AC doesn't have a set of objective checkboxes it needs to tick for it to be a proper AC, it's more about the overall design and mythos surrounding it. Origins have the perfect world map for a rudimentary assassin to form the order. It feels magical, dangerous, and mysterious, and the open spaces you travel only serve the immersion of being an assassin, rather than breaking it. So yeah, AC origins being set in Egypt was a really good idea. Egypt is now one of my favourite settings in AC. Its a setting I know a lot of players wanted, but I wouldn't have thought of.

Assassin's Creed Origins is a 2017 action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is the tenth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, following 2015's Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
