If Kim is too close, her hopkick will whiff over you. (Especially if you're crouched).
If she's too far she risks getting whiff punished after landing. Kim has to be in a certain mid-range sweet spot in order to land it.
While in that mid-range you can always try to clip her before she reaches with a well placed LP or SRK. Or even a neutral jump.
But in case you do have to block it, this video shows a few options.
