Shadow Dancer - The Secret Of Shinobi - Mega Drive Gameplay
Gameplay footage of the Sega Mega Drive port of Shadow Dancer. This port would oddly be VERY different to that of the arcade release but what's even stranger than that is that the Master System port was more closer to the Arcade port.
I'm not exactly sure WHY the Mega Drive version was changed because in all honesty the Arcade version isn't exactly ground breaking. I'm sure even if the Mega Drive downgraded the graphics a little bit that it could of easily handled it.
Instead we get this - A Shinobi game were 1 hit equals instant death. HOWEVER I didn't want to ruin my night and have my blood pressure boil over, so instead used a 3hit hack system like what the game was originally meant to have had installed into it.
Back in the day a lot of Mega Drive games did this bullcrap of 1 hit equals instant death because of the rumoured RENTAL issue. This would be done were the character would die instantly upon 1 hit so that if you had rented the game out instead of buying it .. well with games like Contra Hard Corps, Shadow Dancer and others doing this, your going to need more than a weekend or 1 single rental to complete it.
