Shadowgate VR is brilliant new Oculus Quest & Oculus Quest 2 game but it's hard to say exactly what it is, part VR RPG, part VR dungeon crawler & part VR puzzle game this fantasy adventure blends a lot into one highly effective experience! Thank you to developer Zojoi for the Shadowgate VR key, I've been spoilt recently by a slew of top quality Quest 2 games and Shadowgate is the next one to join that list. At first I thought this would be a standard dungeon crawling affait but quickly I realised this required far more thought & detective work than I was expecting, it might appear to be an Oculus Quest 2 fantasy RPG but it's probably better described as one of the finest Quest 2 puzzle games available right now.

Shadowgate VR The Mines of Mythrok is the first installment in this new Shadowgate VR recreation, unlike many of Quest & Quest 2 dungeon crawlers this isn't a procedurally generated adventure. Instead the dungeons have been meticulously crafted and filled with intricate puzzles that will test players to the limit. I tried my hardest during this play session to not call upon my crow companion Odin to supply me with an hints but there were times when I was absolutely stumped by the well thought out puzzles and mechanics. Word of warning though, this fantasy VR dungeon crawler RPG is PACKED to the brim with spiders... for those who struggle with our eight legged friends this experience might be a little too intense!
