Playing Super Mario 64 in VR sounds like a really cool thing to do in theory...but actually PLAYING Super Mario 64 VR on my Oculus Quest 2 using a clever modded version of the game & Dolphin VR was actually a bit of a nightmare! This Mario 64 VR mod is a wonderful thing & I thank the creator for putting it together (because we don't have any official Super Mario VR game to play right now) but it's far from an ideal way to experience this absolute classic. The controls were never designed for the first person perspective so switching things over into this viewpoint creates some interesting challenges for the player, enemies & items also disappear unless you're looking directly at them & picking up a star causes the game to try and enduce you to have a seizure! Other than that it's pretty damn cool as an experiment, if you just want to strap on your VR headset & challenge yourself to complete Super Mario 64 in VR then you'll have a great time...in short bursts...and once you've grasped the controls!

If you're an Oculus Quest or Oculus Quest 2 owner you'll need to setup an Oculus Quest 2 PC VR link to experience Mario 64 VR as the game/Dolphin VR emulator is not available natively for the Quest.
