Shadwen gameplay is Assassin's Creed meets Braid or Prince of Persia! You stealth, stab and booby-trap your way through castles full of guards, knowing they can kill you with barely a glance. You can use non-lethal distraction techniques in Shadwen gameplay, but your goal is to ensure your innocent companion can get to the exit with you, or it's all for nothing!
Your companion in Shadwen gameplay is indestructible, but she only dares to run between hiding places when guards are looking the other way, so you use your different Shadwen gameplay strategies to ensure those guards are either absent, or dead!
Complicating Shadwen gameplay is that one guard discovers another dead guard, the alarm is raised - if any guard reaches the alarm bell next to the exit, your game is over.
To help you, time only moves forwards in the game when you are doing stuff, otherwise everything freezes. Also if you die, or your gameplay strategies go awry, you can press R and rewind as much time as you like.
Other helpful Shadwen gameplay elements include a set of traps you can lay (and even craft from looted material) to dispatch guards. such as landmines and tripwires. You can also do some mean parkour and use the game's grappling hook to move boxes and swing around the place.

An assassin on a quest to kill the king has a chance encounter with an orphaned girl, Lily. She follows Shadwen on her dangerous journey, but when the ruthless guards get too close, she must take action right in front of Lily's eyes.
Will Shadwen risk the girl's budding trust by resorting to violence, or try and find another way while keeping her real purpose concealed?
