Is Nelo the fastest game of the year? We check out this combination of third-person shooter and top-down twin-stick blaster, where you can flip between the perspectives at will, in our pre-alpha Nelo gameplay video.
Nelo gameplay in pre-alpha form consists of endurance mode, 5 minutes of brutal king-of-the-hill defence against swarms of aliens that beam in from sky and land. The gameplay area moves every minute, and you only score points when you're killing aliens in the area.
To score ever higher scores, you can chain together kills to get high combo multipliers in Nelo gameplay. You have lots of other abilities too: wall jumping, melee attacks, air blast, turning fallen aliens into bombs, finishing moves, bullet time, combo-based bombs and more!
This is just the pre-alpha of Nelo: the final game aims to include exploration, platforming, stealth, sniping, puzzles, turrets, mech suits and flying craft, along with a multiplayer co-op version of the endurance mode.
