In all versions of the game, borders are transferred using CHR_TRN 02, whereas almost all other games use 01 to send CHR data from (0=Tiles 00h-7Fh, 1=Tiles 80h-FFh). CHR_TRN Bit setting 02 is not documented. It is not known if this transfer tiles from the Game Boy game from a different range of 80-FF to load the border into the SNES's VRAM, as this could be an unused method to display the border even while using a single CHR_TRN command using less than 128 tiles.
Dummied Super Game Boy Commands:
Located at (GB) 0x3839A-383EA (GBC) 0x383A9-383E9 are five spaces for additional Super Game Boy commands that were dummied-out during development. it is impossible to determine what features these were.
Revision Changes:
Shanghai Pocket was released later on the GBC offering a different border resembling the traditional Dragon rather than the bland Sunsoft logo.
