Sharka's MEGABytes #9: B-17 Bomber (Intellivision) #intellivision #retrogaming
(WARNING: Contains occasional flicking from the 5 min mark)
Did you know that the Intellivision is the first 16-bit console? It might help explain why it punched well above its 1979 weight and in comparison to Atari's VCS. Though technical marvels such as Shuttle, Pitfall II, and Solaris could be found later in the life of the Atari 2600, Mattel's Intellivision rolled them out pretty much from day one.
In this MEGAbytes ep, we'll be delving into one such title that also made good use of the Intellivoice voice synthesizer add-on module for practical gameplay functions as well as wow-factor. Strap yourself in as we take to the skies above Occupied Europe, circa 1943.
Dedicated to my partner, supportive in all the things I do and taking a retro journey alongside me, one I'm very happy to be able to share with her.
