Sharka's QuickBytes #22: A Collaborative Shmup? #PCEngine #Retrogaming #TurboGrafx
In Sharka's QuickBytes, I'll be taking a bite-sized (byte-sized?) look at retro games, usually several per video when I'm covering a particular series or theme. There'll be more editing and shorter and more scripted commentary in QuickBytes than in the laid-back Nostalgic Nibbles and MEGABytes series', and most vids won't be longer than ten minutes - perfect for a quick blast of Sharka-themed retro goodness.
In this episode, I'll delve into the history of a generic-sounding game that you might expect to vanish into the depths of a crowded pool but was instead crowned shmup royalty in 1989 and '90, becoming one of the hot import titles and praised by many. And I'll also showcase why I enjoy it so much and felt the need to produce my own little retrospective on what turned out to be a stellar collaborative effort.
