Following the release of the feature-rich 1.07 update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt this weekend, a technical analysis has revealed that the update impacts performance, with other issues reported as well. Digital Foundry's technical breakdown of the 1.07 patch reveals that frame rate on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4 have been negatively impacted in some areas. On Xbox One, frame rate takes a hit in intensive areas such as the Crookback bog. Frame rate for The Witcher 3's PC version does not appear to be affected by the new update. However, some PC players, who bought the game through developer CD Projekt Red's own GOG.com as well as Steam, are reporting that achievements are not working as they should. On top of that, the new patch is not showing up at all in some European countries. Thankfully CD Projekt Red is already on the case.

The crowdfunding campaign for an unlicensed Legend of Zelda animated series has been canceled, but Nintendo apparently had nothing to do with it. Producer Michael Patch writes on Facebook that Nintendo never sent a cease and desist order. Instead, he's ended the project as a result of community feedback. An excerpt of the post reads: "Though I have not received a [cease and desist order], out of respect for Nintendo, and due to a few incriminating crowds, I am ending the Zeldamotion journey," The Zelda movie was to be a continuation of the work Patch and his production studio did on the Zeldamotion YouTube series. Nintendo doesn't always block fan-made creations of that kind. But the difference with Patch's new animated series is that he was asking for money on Kickstarter. The cancellation of the Zelda series comes after Patch launched an informal survey earlier this week that asked if people would like to see the project move forward. The overwhelming majority of people said they didn't want the campaign to continue.

Your EA Origin account will soon be called by a different name. Electronic Arts has announced that, in the coming weeks, they'll be called "EA Accounts." This is being done "to better represent all of EA's games and services," the company said in an email. No further explanation was provided; and it appears account owners should not expect any other changes.
