About the Game:
Released in 2014, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is a mystery adventure game developed by Frogwares and published by Focus Home Interactive for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch port released in 2022. It is the first game in the series to use Unreal Engine 3 and was inspired by both Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original stories and the BBC "Sherlock" television series.
Set between the years 1891 and 1894, Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson have resumed their lives and work at 221B Baker Street, following Holmes' victory over Moriarty at Reichenbach Falls. During this time, Dr. Watson has taken a break from publishing the various exploits of his friend, creating a gap that many of Watson's loyal readers would go on to call "the great hiatus". Meanwhile, Holmes continues to help solve various crimes and oddities that take place in London and its surrounding districts, some of them involving high profile individuals or locations. Meanwhile, a local terrorist group known as "The Merry Men" have emerged from the underground of London and threatens the safety of the city, a threat Sherlock's overprotective brother Mycroft urges him to assist with.
Crimes & Punishments received positive reviews, selling over 300,000 copies on the PC alone, and won Best Adventure Game at E3 for 2013 and 2014.
