It hasn't been that long since we last fought Naamah, Vengeance's new boss - she was the last enemy to give us forced exp in fact. She's back with the game's first boss Glasya-Labolas to seriously threaten our party, which emerged from its confrontation against Nuwah at the same level it started that fight.
It is truly puzzling, at a superficial glance, how Naamah together with Glasya-Labolas results in a video recording half as long as the one where we faced her alone. One reason for this could be the fact that she has lower health. The most definite reason however happens to be Vouivre's presence in our party. This physically-inclined Demon has an innate ability that improves the party's chances to act as instructed while under the Charm status. I switch her in after applying Rasetsu Feast as my first action, and her contributions to the strategy at hand are enormous and cannot be overstated - the party actually stops missing all of their turns.
Having both bosses alive and well on the battlefield as an issue we want to remedied ASAP, and if all goes well Glasya-Labolas should be felled by the end of the second turn. Part and parcel of navigating this fight is exploiting everybody's weaknesses to get free turns - opting for Rasetsu Feast over Magatsuhi Critical, we forego guaranteed crits and need to land the attacks of the right element on the right foe. Naamah is phys-weak and if Scratch Dance lands at least a single blow on her (it finally deals all four blows in this fight) voila we get the press turn from the action. Glasya-Labolas, on the other hand, is elec-weak, and single-target Zio will put in more work than an MT Mazio - it should be favoured as Naamah resists the element anyway.
Flaemis, who played a big role in my last fight with Nuwah, is used once more, not offering an elec potential at all but still dealing great damage with Zio magic. Archangel is here to spam Scratch Dance until irrelevant (i.e. Naamah is in solitude), and the other phys-oriented demon is the aforementioned Vouivre. Upon succeeding in inflicting poison on Naamah early with Toxic Sting, Venom Chaser deals considerably more damage than anybody else in the party whilst exploiting the boss's weakness.
Perhaps it is this newfound proficiency in exploiting the boss's weakness coupled with our resistance to Charm's charms (heh) that results in such a seemingly effortless victory. If we failed to concoct one such strategy, Glasya-Labolas would spam Mirage Assailment for heavy wind damage against all, effective against the Nahobino, and things would go south extremely quickly.
