### BATTLE 12 - Objective and Notes ###

This was, and is, the hardest battle. I don´t even know how many times I restarted because someone always end up dying...

For this battle, I made the following preparations:

+ Gave the best protection rings to those who would be fighting the Vandal head-on.
+ All healers should have herbs and use them to recover small injuries.
+ All other members should have healing drops and even more medical herbs.
+ Give Goddess Tear(s) to magic users, to restore MP during battle.
+ This was very important because it allowed me to raise one more level and make every turn count for my magic users.

During the battle, and without grinding, this is the main problems you have to expect:

+ Healers and low defense members will DIE in ONE hit (Bats, Lich, Succubus, Skeleton Warrior)
+ If you use LE at 30%, pray that the bats and others do not use his special. If they do, they will die!
+ Most of your members will have a hard time killing anything, doing 1-2 HP damage per hit (Obright, Julian, Eldar and Hayward, Cybel and Dantares also not very good at this point)
+ Be wary of the traps. Know the agility of the bats and the Lich(s) to plan when to trigger the traps and surround the holes from where the Lich comes from.
+ And do not trigger all the traps at the beginning with Eldar. Some people on Insane have done it, and suceeded, because they've done grinding (Level 10+), and could take every enemy on the 2nd turn.

So, in the end, this is what I wanted to do in this battle:

+ Promote Synbios after this battle. I really neded and wanted to level him up to level 10.
+ Get Spark with Masqurin and get Grace to level 10 aswell
+ Spend all MP healing with Kahn, Irene, Grace. 10 EXP per use is a must at this point.
+ Kill the enemies with your main attackers. Weaken them with Masqurin.

For the Vandal, I had to make sure that I would kill every enemy before engaging, to not die from Succubus Charm attack (Synbios killed Masqurin one time). He also had to waste all his MP, it would be suicide to attack head-on with his mana pool still intact.

In the end, I wasted too much time. My goal at the end was to put the Vandal in a position where he could only attack 3 members of my force.

Contrary to some belief, he will attack someone else other than Julian and Synbios.
If Synbios was not level 10, he would die if not paired with Obright. I didn´t pair him with Obright because I knew he wouldn´t die in 1 hit, instead I used Obright friendship bonus with Julian and other character who could take 1 hit.

This was the only way to end this battle without anyone dying but... it was a very close call.
If I failed to level up some characters or I didnt get one ring on the ruins or just had bad level ups during the game, I don´t think I would be able to end this battle without grinding.

So... there you have it. I don't want to go through it again in the future :|

### MAIN OBJECTIVE ###

My final goal is to create gameplay videos about the battles only, on insane difficulty, with no return spell/grinding.

According to some users on Shining Force Central, this is how difficulty ramps up:
Normal: -
Hard: +50% ATT, +25% DEF
Difficult: +25% ATT
Insane: +50% ATT, +50% DEF

These gains only apply to base stats and are always ajusted based on previous difficulty.

The results will be used alongside the article I´m writing for ZWAME, FNintendo and probably other websites.
