Battle starts at: 5:42

Challenge Details:

-No Deaths (Fire Emblem Style): Since characters can be revived after a battle, taking an FE approach will spice up the challenge.

-Minimal Grinding: This is to enhance the set challenge. What this one means is that I won't go completely out of my way to level 20 promote ALL of my characters that I plan to use by abusing the Egress (retreat) spell. With the exception of grinding for the Heroes, Healers, and Mages, I won't dedicate a lot of time to grinding, and when grinding time DOES roll around, it'll be off-record, for the sake of time. I will sync any aftermath-grinding with cutscenes via edits and let you know when I did a grind.

-Playing on Super Hard all the way from Book 1 to 4. Might have to bend the rules a bit during Book 4, but we'll see...

-----

I'll get into an update on the channel in a bit, but here's a time-passing side project for you all who feel like watching until the inspiration flows back: Shining Force CD - Magnus Style.

Let me just say that I love the Shining Force series; way more than Fire Emblem. I grew up with this series and it's thanks to these games that even got me into Fire Emblem in the first place. So maybe the subscribers of mine who wanted to see more FE gameplay might get a kick out of me trying out this insane challenge in another strategy game.

I'll leave explaining the game's mechanics to those unfamiliar with the game throughout these videos piece by piece, but it's pretty self-explanatory. However, anything you don't understand about the gameplay, just comment and I promise that I'll respond when I can.

So yeah, let's get into a bit of why Super Hard is pretty terrifying:

-Enemy AI is ingeniously designed; enemies are A LOT smarter compared to the three lower difficulties. Instead of targeting Nick/Deanna (Book 2) all the time when they're in range, these guys know exactly who has the lowest HP/Defense and will target your weaker units. They'll normally go for your Hero more often, because when he dies, it's game over. Sort of like chess, in a sense. But the AI knows it takes more than your Hero to win a battle, and it's harder on me because I literally can't let ANYONE die.

-Enemy stats are higher; It becomes more noticeable during mid to late game during each Book.

In this first battle, the difference isn't that much noticeable, but the AI is at it's smartest from the jump. Careful positioning is required here, since all of the characters are Level 1 noobs right now, and I'm not grinding early in the game, so the first set of battles will definitely be the hardest. I have to take advantage of my units with the highest HP/Defense, especially in situations near the end where I had to bait the Dark Mage's Blaze 2 spell with careful positioning with Apis, who could tank it and survive the Giant Bats, too.

---

I'm sure most of you were expecting Tales stuff, but gonna be upfront here: Inspiration for that comes and goes like a storm. But while I'm sitting around letting those projects of a series that I've lost most passion for collect dust, I'm just going to pass time by doing stuff I want to/in the mood for.

And I'm not calling out names, but someone had the gall to accuse me of "not being able to handle your own challenges".

...Lol. My next fight for the Guy solo is for the Uniceros.

The.Friggin.Unicorn

Rhybgaro's retarded cousin who somehow still has his horn.

That fight isn't even hard. Already have a successful take (AND Sync) recorded, but didn't like either. Could do better than what I recorded.

Whenever I'm in the mood to do Tales stuff, I'll just post them in-between my other projects. Pretty tired of repeating myself at this point.

A schedule on YouTube = lolno

Gave up on setting one a long time ago.

Anyway, enjoy this playthrough.
