Shiny Kalos Legendaries Appear! + Win Whitney's Miltank in the Johto Classic!
6Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video!
- Once again, I've got another Pokémon TCG booster pack to open up! This week will be BREAKthrough, with the code card (as always) going out to one lucky viewer. I'll open up the booster near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day for you to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive the code card (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, May 22nd.
- If you haven't yet seen it (or any of the countless reaction videos currently viewable on YouTube), Pokémon has released the first trailer for the upcoming Gen 7 games, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon. - Another Pokémon ORAS online competition has been announced: the Johto Classic! Similar to the previous Kanto Classic, this competition is open to only those Pokémon found in the Kanto and Johto Pokédex (numbered 1 through 251), excluding the legendaries of Mewtwo, Mew, Lugia, Ho-Oh, and Celebi. Pokémon transferred up through the generations via Poké Transporter are permitted in this competition, with no Mega Stones being permitted in battle. Registration for the Johto Classic begins Thursday, May 19th and goes until Thursday, May 26th, open to the first 50,000 participants. The battle period begins on Friday, May 27th, ending on Sunday, May 29th. The battle format will be single battles, with only 3 Pokémon per battle.
- And now, for the participation prize for the Johto Classic. If you complete 3 battles in the Johto Classic during the battle period, you will earn the participation prize of a download of the infamous Whitney's Miltank, ace Pokémon of the Goldenrod City Gym Leader herself. Whitney's Miltank will arrive at level 20, sporting the Scrappy ability, and knowing the moveset of Stomp, Milk Drink, Attract, and Rollout.
- In celebration of Pokémon the anime: XYZ, special legendary distributions have begun! The first of these ran from May 2nd to May 8th, in the form of the legendary Zygarde. The next distribution, having started back on May 11th and running until Tuesday, May 17th, is the rare shiny version of Xerneas. And finally, from Friday, May 20th to Thursday, May 26th, shiny Yveltal will be available. These Kalos legendaries can be downloaded into your game from the Mystery Gift option in the main menu, to be downloaded Via Internet. Don't miss out on your chance to obtain these rare shiny legendaries!
- The shiny Kalos legendaries don't stop there, though! A trio of new Pokémon TCG tins, the Shiny Kalos Tins, will be featuring shiny Xerneas, shiny Yveltal, and Zygarde complete form, all appearing as Pokémon-EX. These Pokémon-EX promos are funcionally the same as the XY base set's Xerneas-EX and Yveltal-EX and Fates Collide's Zygarde-EX - same typing, HP, attacks, etc., with the new bonus of shiny promo art in the case of Xerneas and Yveltal. Each tin also includes 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs, plus an online code card to unlock the contents of the tin itself.
- A pair of new Pokémon TCG Elite Trainer Boxes have been announced. First off, as is standard tradition, the newest expansion of Fates Collide comes with its own Elite Trainer Box, which contains 8 Fates Collide booster packs, 45 basic Energy cards (5 of each type), a player's guide highlighting the newest expansion, 6 damage counter dice, 1 competition-legal coin flip die, 2 acrylic special condition markers, a collection box with 4 dividers for organizing your cards, and an online code card to unlock some Pokémon TCG Online goodies.
- The second Elite Trainer Box to mention is actually focusing on the Pokémon TCG: Generations expansion. This Box will include the same contents as the Fates Collide Box, with a few exceptions. The Generations Box comes with 10 Generations booster packs rather than 8, the 45 basic Energy cards have a new look to them, and also included with be a new foil promo card of Shaymin-EX.
- The final Pokémon TCG collection to mention is the Mega Mawile-EX Premium Collection. This comes with a Mawile-EX promo card, a Mega Mawile-EX promo card, a special oversized copy of Mega Mawile-EX, a Mawile Spirit Link Tool, 6 Pokémon TCG booster packs, a Mega Mawile collector's pin and coin, and a Pokémon TCG Online code card.
