Hello again folks, just a heads up that I'll be busy in the next few days but I'll try to squeeze in some 1cc's when I have free time.

Anyways, todays run is Shock Troopers 2nd Squad. Hoo boy...the difficulty is downright unfair compared to the first game.

Plot of the game is D.I.C, an organization led by Nakatomi plans on engaing a coup d'etat against the worlds leaders. With the situation out of hand four specialists Lion, Angel, Lulu, and Toy (yes that's his name) are sent out to stop the coup d'etat.

Onto to the gameplay, controls are pretty similar to the previous game so the controls are excused. As for the items and weapons, they're very rare to come boy but I do like the weapon upgrade system it has just so you can fight back when you can't pick up any weapons. Though even if you do pick up a weapon some of them have limited range or barely hit anything (-cough- round shot). It also tried to be similar to metal slug (or mercs) by letting you ride vehicles. Though the vehicles are quite a struggle to use because they're very slow and dodging bullets can be quite a nuisance. You can pretty much ditch picking up weapons because you're default weapon gives you enough power anyways. Just remember to save up on your explosives especially the final boss.

Difficulty starts to bend when you reach the 2nd mission already. Each stage feels really tight so you have to keep dodging every now and then. The damage you take is very cruel as well, the small bullets don't deal as much but once you encounter the soldiers in blue, red and the ones with caps, you better not mess up because their bullets take up 1/2 of you're life bar.

The bosses are for the most part alright but the bosses in stage 4 and 5 are very tedious to beat due to how much health they have. The final boss will take you forever if you didn't stack up on your explosives and dodging can be a pain. I can't really tell how big the hitbox is because I tend to just slip by some of projectiles in the final boss, I got really lucky is all.

As for the characters, pick either Angel or Lulu. Lion is just too slow for me but his power makes up for it. Toy is okay but his bombs/explosive isn't as good as the other characters. I much prefer throwing the bombs really.
Anyways, Angel offers good speed and power while Lulu offers speed and defense. Though playing as Lulu may take you a good while to finish due to how weak her weapon is (unless you're really near an enemy).

Graphics are pretty good actually. I love that the vehicles, enemies and characters have a 3d effect to them albeit being sprites.

Overall the difficulty just kills 2nd squad, would really just recommend toning it down if you want some fun in 2nd squad.
