Shot By Both Sides is a Side Job available as part of Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC. This page will detail how to begin this Side Job, a walkthrough of the mission, and the rewards gained upon completion.
Balls to the Wall can be started after completing the Phantom Liberty DLC quest titled The Damned. To begin this Side Job, respond to the message sent by Mr. Hands and he'll give you the details for the mission. He'll ask you to investigate a journalist named Bree Whitney, and asks you to head to her apartment in Night City to retrieve an access card.
Make your way to the marked location on your map where you'll find the entrance to Bree's apartment building. Head inside and take the elevator up to the apartments floor. When you reach the fifth floor, make your way through the hallway and enter Bree's apartment by either forcing the door open (3 Body) or using your (Technical Ability 3).
Inside the apartment, you'll need to locate the bamboo plant where Bree has stashed the access card. This can be found in her bedroom through the first door on the left. You'll find the bamboo plant in the corner of the room near the computer. Scan it to reveal a hidden drawer containing the access card.
Grab the card and message Mr. Hands back letting him know you retrieved it safely. He'll send you some coordinates to an abandoned building in Dogtown where you'll need to go next.
Just as you open the door to leave the apartment, there will be a neighbor outside looking for Bree. You can chat with him for a moment, but ultimately you'll need to leave the apartment building. Head back downstairs and travel to the new location in Dogtown.
Take the elevator to the lower level and you'll end up back in the area you explored during one of the earlier story missions. Scanning the floor to the right will reveal a set of footprints leading into the area beneath the floor.
Head down the ladder and make your way through the tunnel until you reach the other side. After you exit the tunnel, follow the train tracks to the right until you reach a hole in the wall that's been blown open. Enter the hole and make your way down and you'll run into a stranger that ends up being Bree.
Hand over the card and follow Bree down the staircase into the abandoned Militech facility. After a short conversation, she'll open the door and have you head through first. There are a bunch of turrets and cameras in the room, but they appear to be offline.
Bree will follow you through and try another door without success. She will lead you to the door at the end of the room on the left and ask you to head through again. This time, the electronics are all online, so you'll need to quickly hack the cameras to avoid detection and override the turrets so you don't take damage.
Once you've safely cleared the way for Bree, follow her to the next doorway. Once again, this room is armed with laser mines, turrets, and cameras. Do your best to quickly deactivate what you can. There's also a security computer in the office to the immediate left that you can access and disable everything else in the facility.
Follow Bree to the final doorway and continue into the mainframe room. She'll ask you to view three video files from the previous decade.
After all three videos have been watched, the unsuspecting neighbor will enter the room and reveal himself to be a Militech agent named Dante, who is after Bree. Do your best to diffuse the situation, but ultimately you'll need to dispatch Dante.
You can loot Dante's body to pick up his weapon, Ol' Reliable, a Tier 5 Iconic Power Revolver. Afterwards, speak with Bree and she'll thank you for the help before sending you on your way. You can also pick up her weapon, Riskit, a Tier 5 Iconic Power Pistol on the nearby table where she was waiting. Leave the laboratory and Mr. Hands will contact you and thank you for your work, completing this Job.
