Shutter [ONLY] Not an Island
0Well, this game would have been better if it didn't glitch out on the photos halfway through (which it also did the previous time I played it, so this isn't some new phenomenon).
Shutter's a fairly bland horror game with a moderately novel concept. The idea of driving a drone around is a clever one, although it isn't really explored well. It seems to be mainly there to justify the conceit of having the classic survival horror camera angles. Unfortunately, those camera angles are useless enough that the majority of the game is spent in the first person mode.
The plot is uninteresting, just satisfying the basic horror tropes, with an extraordinarily stupid protagonist. If ghosts broke the drone, why would you go in yourself?
The puzzles were more wandering from room to room waiting for criteria to manifest over actual puzzles. Other than that, it's a fairly straightforward walking—err—rolling simulator.
Not really worth the $2.
